How Pipe Bending Machine Works?
2020-10-27
In the past, technicians in metal manufacturing plants would manually bend small diameter tubes. This type of work often results in incorrect dimensions, incorrect angles, and imperfect appearance (such as wrinkles on the inside of elbows).

Fortunately, we have come a long way in these days. Now, we can make precise measurements using machines designed to perform the job perfectly. These machines are called automatic pipe bender (or square tube bending machine).

WHAT IS A CNC TUBE BENDING MACHINE?

The CNC pipe bender is a fully automatic machine operated by a computer. It uses heavy machinery parts operated by electric motors or sometimes hydraulic systems. The CNC pipe bender can perform complex bending with very high precision, which is unmatched by hand-formed parts.

At BLMA, we have the most advanced CNC tube bending machine designed to bend tubes with diameters between 6mm and 219mm. They can meet a variety of manufacturing needs, from simple single bends to complex bends, including spirals and multiple bending points.

Our CNC pipe bender is designed to bend accurate to millimeters or degrees. Therefore, we are able to manufacture stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminum pipes with precise dimensions for water pumps, fuel pumps and other automotive parts. We also manufacture special parts for the petroleum and gasoline industries.

HOW DOES A CNC TUBE BENDING MACHINE WORK?

CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. The 5 axis pipe bending machine controls the mechanical parts and hydraulic system together with the computer. The machine guarantees uniform bending and precise dimensions. It also eliminates any confusion around each bending technique.

In the exhaust bending machine, there are five main components that play an important role in clean and precise bending:

Bending die: a circular part with a determination of the bending radius.
Clamping: A fixture that helps the fixture mold to clamp the pipe when the fixture is bent.
Wiper die: perishable parts to prevent wrinkles inside the elbow.
Mandrel: a perishable part that works with the wiper mold to prevent wrinkles on the inside of the elbow.
Pressure die: A large part that can apply appropriate pressure to the pipe to bend it accurately.

All these components work together to obtain a perfect bending effect according to the specifications of the computer.
